Motoe: - Austrian Gp - PreviewMotoE: The Red Bull Ring welcomes MotoE for the third round of the 2025 season and with 20 points covering the top three, it’s tight at the top.

Two rounds down and five to go, including this weekend at the Red Bull Ring. Andrea Mantovani (Klint Forward Factory Team) leads the charge into the third round of the season but with just 13 points as his advantage, he’ll need to be in tip-top form in order to leave the Styrian Alps as the rider to beat. The first back-to-back of the year, momentum is key.

A popular winner last time out and ever the showman, Mantovani’s victory at Assen spurred him into the lead of the title and with three podiums from four races, he’s the rider to beat. A double top ten last year but never in the top five in Austria, the early pacesetter heads to the Red Bull Ring in the captain’s chair. Alessandro Zaccone won last time out in Assen’s Race 2; a top five at the Red Bull Ring last year and gearing up for his 50th race in the class, can he have cause for more celebrations this weekend? Rounding out the top three is double Champion Jordi Torres (Power Electronics Aspar Team), who missed out on a podium in Austria last year.

Super rookie Lorenzo Baldassarri (Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE) is next up in fourth after his first podium at Assen, whilst it was a Dutch round to forget for Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team), having been a winner and Championship leader after Round 1 at Le Mans. He’s tied on points with Kevin Zannoni (Power Electronics Aspar Team), another rider who struggled at Assen but all three are covered by just a point. For Baldassarri, a best of P4 in Moto2™ at the Red Bull Ring will see him as one of the favourites.

Four top ten finishes so far, Nicholas Spinelli (Rivacold Snipers Team MotoE) hopes to mount the podium once again whilst the second rookie that’s been impressive in 2025 is Jacopo Hosciuc (MSI Racing Team). The Romanian arrives to Austria after three straight top ten but has Oscar Gutierrez on his tail behind; the Le Mans Race 1 winner returns to action in Austria and seeks a return to title contention. Maria Herrera (Klint Forward Factory Team) completes the top ten and hopes to bag another top ten at the Red Bull Ring, just like she managed 12 months ago. Other riders to watch out for outside of the top ten in the standings include defending Champion Hector Garzo (Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE), Brazilian star Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) – both of whom are winners in Austria – and Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE), who just hopes for better luck and solid points after a tricky first two rounds.
